Hi,
Is there a faster way to extract all the individual PDF pages from larger files than using the -burst option? It works great, but on files >500 pages it gets exponentially slower. My guess is it requires a read of the input file each time it extracts a page, and the larger the file, the longer each page takes to extract.
Any help would be greatly appreciated as it can take many hours to extract all the pages of larger files.
Thank you.
Not at this time. But I'll check into it and see if there's something can be done to speed up the process.

OK - I've added an option called -burstquick. You use it along with the standard -burst "text" option. I used a 3000+ page PDF for testing and without this option it got through about 6 pages in a minute. With the option I got over 700 pages in a minute so you might want to give that a try.

Hi Mike,
I'm having an issue with this change. Yes, it extracts the files exponentially faster, but (at least in my case) all the PDF files (except the first one) are corrupt. The file sizes appear correct, but when I open them there's nothing there. Could you check and see if this happens in your example as well?
As soon as I switch back to the old version all is well again, but of course the extract is also slow.
Thanks.

I've tried with a few different PDFs and didn't have an issue. Is it possible to send a scaled down version (just 5 to 10 pages) that I can use to test with? It's obviously some condition that is unique here but without a sample I have no way of knowing. If it's sensitive in nature, you can arrange to send it to support@fytek.com rather than placing in the forum.

Hi Mike,
I think I know what the problem is. You made a change to the program previously to allow me to use the "-pages odd" option along with the -burst option. Well, I'm using that option along with the -burstquick option, and they don't seem to be compatible. If I remove the "-pages odd" option, everything works again with no corrupt pages.
Could you try that and see if you can duplicate my issue?
Thanks!
Yep - that seems to be a problem. I've put a fix in so try it again please.
