Can't get rid of red buttons
I uninstalled this program, removed the folder and any registry entries... uninstalled, re-downloaded Acrobat Reader reinstalled Reader, and still when I open any fill-in pdf form I get the red buttons at the bottom:
Reset Save As and Print. How do I get this to stop??? Thanks, Bob |

RE: Can't get rid of red buttons
It seems as if you're opening the PDF after it has been saved from PDF File Save, but with the buttons attached. Do you have a copy of the PDF from before you ran it through PDF File Save? Not sure if there was some issue with the particular PDF that caused it to save the buttons with the form.

No, I'm downloading fresh pdf's long after uninstalling FileSave but whatever script or altered dll is responsible for modifying the pdf's is still present and active and driving me insane (especially since I am a .net developer and should be able to figure out where this is hooking into acrobat reader :-( ) Bob |

RE: Can't get rid of red buttons
Bob,
The only way the buttons are going to be added is if you open the PDF in PDF File Save, rather than using Reader. Just so you know, there is no hook or DLL that attaches to Adobe Reader or any other PDF viewing software. Can you attach one of the PDFs it's happening on? It still seems as if you have the intermediary PDF which contains the buttons already. Try downloading, or locate on your local system, a completely new PDF that was never opened with PDF File Save and verify it does not contain the buttons. Thanks, Mike Bernardo FyTek, Inc. |

In case something went wrong with the original uninstall of the FyTek program I redownloaded it and installed it and removed it again via Vista "Programs and Features". This is really maddening. I am running Vista x64 and the version of File Save I have been using is the 2.0. Bob |

RE: Can't get rid of red buttons
Bob,
That doesn't look like the position where the buttons are located for PDF File Save. Do you have some other software on your system to save fillable PDFs? Can you attach that PDF to a message so I can take a look at it? Either here or at support@fytek.com. Thanks, Mike Bernardo FyTek, Inc. |

RE: Can't get rid of red buttons
(10-19-2009 04:59 AM)admin Wrote: Bob, File Save never did work on my system, the saving process was always interrupted by Acrobat's own "can't save" notice and refused to allow me to disable the interruption. So I tried PDFFill from PlotSoft and that is working well. I am in the process of trying to fill out bankruptcy papers so you might understand that my patience is a bit short. It appears that perhaps the Bankruptcy court forms contain these buttons and their similarity to the buttons that File Save has is completely coincidental. Can someone download one of the forms from this site: http://www.uscourts.gov/bkforms/bankruptcy_forms.html and see if the buttons are there? Just right click on "Form" below "B1 Voluntary Petition" and do Save Target as and open it in Acrobat after and see if the buttons appear. The strange thing is that they are not there if I open the file in PDFFill. Robert Graham |

Bob, Yes, if I go to the site (or open the PDF you have attached) the buttons are on the last page of the form so they are already included in the PDF itself. I don't know why they are there other than to make it easier for someone with the full version of Acrobat to use. Thanks, Mike Bernardo FyTek, Inc. |

Thanks Mike. Apologies for wasting your time. Odd how similar the appearance of the buttons is (sort of a windows 3.1 kind of look). Bob |
