PDF Integration
We integrated our PDF software with an existing government compliance system written in Progess that generates several hundred different reports. This work involved modifications to the main report engine for the site to make DLL calls to the PDF software. We were also able to help code and design other areas of the system including a software scheduler and a website written in JSP.
System Rewrite
A local publishing company required a new website to replace their Oracle Forms/Reports system. The old process involved manually entering data off of faxes into Oracle Forms which was time consuming and error prone. We designed a new site using ColdFusion 8 as the web server and interfaced with their existing Oracle database on the backend. Some database modifications were made and the new website includes AJAX for refreshing various sections based on database queries. The client has saved thousands of man hours and dollars by having clients update their own listings on-line.
System Integration
Some projects involve enhancing existing applications such as for this worldwide parts supplier. The client had the backend code written in JSP but needed help with the look and feel of the front end. We created several mock-ups using HTML and CSS based on their design philosophy and the client picked the one they liked. We then created a mock-up using that design for each unique page setup in the system for their in-house staff to use in merging in with their existing code.
This same supplier required a series of small applications to interact with their web application via a mobile smart scanner. The applications were written in C# utilizing Visual Studio 2008. The applications allow their users to capture inventory cycle counts, orders, put aways and receiving remotely and then upload their counts in batch mode to a central database for nightly processing.
System Design and Development
Another project involving digital rights management was designed and written for a client using Progress and Webspeed. This system was created from the ground up to replace a part manual/part automated and somewhat scattered approach. The new site encapsulates the entire process by capturing meta data about media, upload areas for graphics, and links with licensing information surrounding the media and components that go into producing the final product. The site also provides an interface into their existing account system.
